After reading your journey, I can't help but wonder if what you're craving from plants is their roots. I can relate. We started several gardens in rentals and ended up moving before we could harvest. It was always to somewhere "better" but, still... moving is tough. Feeling unsettled is tough. Putting your hands in dirt that is yours is important. Knowing you'll be the one eating the apples from the tree you plant... all that takes time. Time in the same location. Roots.

I hope you get to stay where you are for a good long time. I hope the same for myself.

You are absolutely spot on. For many years after leaving my hometown I felt like a feather in the breeze. I definitely needed to feel that way for a while, so that I could learn the value of staying in one place. The place where we live now feels like a dream, one that I was searching for for so long and after being here for two years, feels like I am just beginning to settle in. I'm such a homebody now, which is a interesting contrast from 18 months ago being a flight attendant. All the contrast in my life has taught me such valuable lessons in appreciating extremes in many different areas of my life. We planted apple, peach, cherry and pear trees last year, and you are correct-the wait will make them that much more worth it. Thanks for your insight, I always love what you have to say :)

Speaking of roots and groundedness, have you ever read "Eastern Body, Western Mind"? (I apologize if I've asked you this before... I feel like I may have). Anyway, from reading your material (which I also greatly enjoy!), I think you'd like the book. Seems right up your alley.

Wow, countryside Vermont 🥰 sounds dreamy. I love growing/living with all 4 seasons too! Warm climates are nice, but I love the variety here. ❤️

It was certainly a gorgeous place, but I am a girl from the West- so I always knew I would return :)
