What is Intuitive Growth?
The blueprint for wellness found in the garden
Ancient Wisdom Found in the Soil
The 12 Phases in a Season of Growth contains wisdom that has existed as long as women have been tending their gardens. For centuries, women have been growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs and teas to heal illnesses, clear energy, delight the senses and feed loved ones.
Only in the past 300 years or so has it been optional to grow food. As long as humans have existed, gardens have been tended. This ancient practice in survival provides much more than tangible goods that keep our bodies alive and well; growing food provides a roadmap to wellness of the mind and spirit as well.
Each living plant in the garden provides something of great value to the human body; but what if the garden has more to give than that which we can see, touch, taste, smell and consume?
What if the garden has ancient wisdom to share with the modern world; not only how to feed our bodies but our minds and souls as well?
While learning to grow food in over the past several years, it’s become evident that there is a template for personal growth found in the soil.
The patterns of growth found in the garden are both ancient and contemporary— and have stood the test of time. Very little has changed in the growth process as it pertains to soil, seeds, water and sun over the past several thousand years.
Growth in nature is wisdom as old as time.
Imagine for a moment all the women in your lineage, in their gardens, hundreds (maybe even thousands) of years ago. Did they make the connection between plant growth and personal growth while tending their herbs and vegetables?
In their days spent planting seeds, pulling weeds, monitoring the activity of the clouds and praying for rain; how many noticed Mother Nature’s best kept secret–the blueprint for personal growth?
On farms and homesteads predating the internet, televisions and cars—how many growers realized that solid boundaries, consistent self-care and removing that which drains energy leads to an abundant harvest both in and out of the garden?
How many wise women, growing teas and herbs deep in the woods, realized that letting go of a season is as valuable and beautiful as the first sight of growth in early spring?
Did your ancestral growers notice that composting exists in the garden and in life- allowing all that has ceased growth or is no longer useful to eventually nourish future soil?
The ancient lessons taught by Mother Nature have remained the same for centuries showing us how to begin, grow, let go, rest and repeat. These cycles have been going on for millennia and will continue to exist so long as the Earth exists.
What is Intuition?
There are as many definitions for intuition as there are varieties of plants. There are also many different ways for you to become more aligned and aware of the inner-wisdom you have within.
All modalities that can help you become more aware of your purpose and true nature are of great value, but allow me to define intuition as it will be defined in this series:
There is a natural blueprint for you in this season in your life. You have specific needs, interests and adventures that need exploration. You have ideas in your heart that have been wanting to be explored for some time now.
Whether your intuition wants to create art, quit a toxic job, learn to roller skate or move to a new city; your friendly inner-nag will never stop reminding you of what you actually desire.
You intuition is not at all concerned with the “shoulds” of life— your intuition doesn’t care about your age, upbringing, culture or religion. Your intuition is not worried about the past or the future. Your intuition will put desires in your heart that are unique to you in this current season of your life, and will never stop trying to get you wise up and pay a little more attention.
You intuition wants you to have fun & to experience all you can in this lifetime. Your intuition will never lead you to a mistake.
Your intuition is inviting you to overcome fear and to take the risks necessary to break free from that which makes you feel stuck.
You have an inner-voice that is constantly nagging you to address the areas in your life that are causing you frustration, irritation and confusion. This confusion and the feeling of something being ‘off’ is designed to make you uncomfortable enough to take action.
Your inner-wisdom is trying to show you how to rid yourself of self-sabotage so that you can clear space for who you are meant to be so you can feel more alive.
Your intuition will gently plant seeds of desire in your heart that will grow larger in time, if ignored. These experiences you secretly dream of will lead to joy, purpose and freedom— but you will always be required to let go of the doubt that prevents you from moving forward.
The fear that is preventing you from moving forward is nothing more than fearful mindsets and dynamics preventing you from doing the things in your life that make you feel free.
When your intuition wants you to learn something, it continues to give you obstacles and misery until you finally surrender and realize that your intuition is actually on your side. Your intuition is always trying to get you to face fears and take action so that you can enjoy the time you have remaining.
You have a blueprint within you that always knows what you need and how to get it. You must follow the wisdom of your intuition to guide you towards who you are meant to be.
What is Intuitive Growth?
Intuitive Growth: living your life guided by your inner-wisdom and following the patterns of growth in the garden.
Intuitive growth is a concept that will help you prioritize self-trust so that you have the courage necessary to reveal your purpose during this season of your life.
Once you start trusting that your intuition isn’t putting ideas in your head willy-nilly, your can begin to outgrow limitations and address fears directly.
You likely have many intuitive ideas and desires stock-piled in your mind. Maybe you want to travel to Spain, start a business or fall in love again.
You likely have many ideas that have been just existing in your mind (some have likely been there for decades) but you haven’t yet found a way to make them actually happen.
With Intuitive Growth, you will be invited to address your self-sabotage and fear to clear the way for the ideas you have and experiences you desire. Self-sabotage is anything you spend your time doing that gets in the way of that which you actually want (and that which wants you).
You might be over-eating, spending inordinate amounts of time scrolling social media, drinking too much, consuming the news or spending time with people you don’t truly adore. All of the time you spend distracting yourself from what your intuition is trying to convince you to do is what is making you miserable.
Once you decide that you have what it takes to muster the courage to systematically get your self-sabotaging behavior out of the way, you are ready to start growing.
Intuitive growth is the practice of merging of the spiritual and practical:
Spiritually, your intuition is constantly nagging you, reminding you that there is work to be done in your life. There are relationships to heal, destructive habits to break and a divine purpose to reveal to yourself and others.
Practically, there is a specific formula for growth found in the garden: set an intention, make a plan, follow through, receive a harvest and prepare for the next season.
Merging the spiritual and practical is what The 12 Phases in a Season of Growth will teach you to do. Inspired by the garden and how the fruits and vegetables can nourish the body, the process of growing food also reveals the wisdom necessary to nourish the mind and spirit.
First, you will discover what this season in your life is all about, and then you will take action; trusting your intuition and finding the courage to grow.
Each phase of a growing season (both in and out of the garden) has a specific purpose, and when executed with wisdom- the chances for abundance are all but imminent:
Spring (Phases 1-3): Embracing new beginnings, setting intentions, preparing a healthy growth environment and planting seeds.
Summer (Phases 4-6): Consistently cultivating boundaries, nourishment and pruning.
Autumn (Phases 7-9): Celebrating harvest, preserving the harvest, letting go of the season.
Winter (Phases 10-12): Reflection, rest and preparing for the next season.
The patterns of growth found in the garden hold the wisdom necessary to help you find your truth and trust your nature:
Spring:
Identifying what a harvest looks like in this season of your life (Phase One) will help you align your actions and priorities in a way that will give you great focus and clarity. Assessing your values and priorities (Phase Two) will show you how you determine if your daily choices are in alignment with what you need to learn in this season of life. Making a plan to grow (Phase Three) will make it very clear what needs to be done in order to honor your truth within.
Summer:
In (Phase Four) you will assess and establish the necessary boundaries to prepare for potential threats to your growth. Consistently taking care of yourself and your needs (Phase Five) will give you the tools necessary to keep your harvest growing. Regularly pruning that which no longer serves you (Phase Six) gives you the power to focus energy in the direction of progress.
Autumn:
If you happen to lose your way during the process (Phase Seven) will help you get back on track before the harvest is spoiled. When you arrive at (Phase Eight) you will know that you have done the work necessary to celebrate, share and preserve the fruits of your labor. When the harvest is winding down, you will let go of the season (Phase Nine) gracefully; recognizing that you now have the wisdom necessary to eventually move on to the next season.
Winter:
Reflecting on the season (Phase Ten) will reinforce the lessons you have learned and the wisdom you acquired. Taking the necessary time to rest (Phase Eleven) and reset is a valuable (and often ignored) aspect to growth. As with every completed season, a new season is right around the corner. (Phase Twelve) will help you identify and prepare for the next season in your life.
Trusting Mother Nature
The natural world does not manipulate outcomes, it simply evolves to thrive & survive. Mother Nature has no hidden agenda, no elaborate tricks up her sleeve and she tells no lies. She is both steadfast and mysterious, offering invaluable guidance while giving you no option but to surrender to her will.
In the garden, she will let you grow tomatoes, corn and potatoes- but will flood your garden without notice. She provides the sun, water and the soil you need to survive, but also provides the insects and drought which hold the power to destroy.
She will never stop teaching you that you are both powerful and powerless. You can adopt her lessons of growth and healing, but you can not control any particular outcome. She will always show you that control is an illusion and the willingness to trust lies in how much courage you have to start over again and again and again.
You will always be in a dance with Mother Nature; learning her ways and embracing her wisdom. She is neither good nor evil; she is life.
Natural growth is not foolproof, nor is personal growth. Staying the course, remaining curious and having a steadfast willingness to work hard will be the key to success.
How to Use this Series:
This concept of Intuitive Growth is a way for you to go through all the various seasons in your life with clarity and in a way that aligns with your true nature led by Mother Nature herself. You will learn what growth is being asked of you and then given direction on how to grow as demonstrated in nature.
In phase one, Turn Over a New Leaf, you will assess what lesson your intuition is guiding you towards in this season of your life.
For example, you might be guided towards understanding your relationship with food, alcohol or picking the wrong romantic partners. By answering a series of questions, you will know exactly what you need to do to grow in this season of your life.
Your intuition knows exactly what areas of your life need healing & understanding and is always ready to guide you to overcome any limiting beliefs.
When you discover what lesson your intuition is guiding you towards, you can then progress through a season of growth until you have learned what you need to know.
Are you ready to get started?
